Volume Tells The Truth

VolGauge tracks relative volume across hundreds of equities in real-time. It surfaces the names where money is actually moving — and flags the ones where price is lying.

Relative Volume (RVOL)

Every ticker is compared to its own 30-day average volume. A 2.5x RVOL means 2.5x more shares traded than usual — something is happening.

⚠️

Unsupported Move Detection

Price moving over 1.5% on less than 0.75x relative volume? That's a move without conviction. VolGauge flags these potential traps automatically.

📊

Volume Percentile Ranking

See exactly where today's volume ranks in the last 30 days. A 95th percentile day means today is louder than 95% of recent sessions.

🏜️

Dry Volume Tracking

Names trading at less than 0.5x their average volume are ghost towns. Moves here are suspect — thin volume means thin conviction.

Personal Watchlist

Pin any ticker to your watchlist with one click. Pinned tickers stick across sessions and appear in a dedicated section at the top of the board.

Every Column Explained

RVOL Relative Volume — today's volume divided by the 30-day average. Above 1.0x means above-average activity. Color coded: green (1-1.5x), yellow (1.5-2x), orange (2x+).
CHG% Price change from yesterday's close. Green for up, red for down. Cross-reference with RVOL to see if the move is backed by volume.
TODAY VOL Total shares traded today so far. Displayed in shorthand (e.g. 12.4M).
30D AVG The average daily volume over the last 30 trading days — your baseline for what "normal" looks like for this name.
VOL RANK Where today's volume ranks among the last 30 sessions. #1/31 means today is the highest volume day in the sample.
%ILE Volume percentile. 90% means today's volume exceeds 90% of the last 30 days.
GAP% The opening gap from yesterday's close. A +3.2% gap means the stock opened 3.2% above yesterday's closing price.
RANGE Day range position — where the current price sits within today's high-low range. A full bar means closing at the high.

Volume Tiers

TierRVOL RangeWhat It Means
EXTREME2.0x+Massive volume — institutional activity, news catalyst, or event. This is where the big moves happen.
HIGH1.5 – 2.0xElevated interest. Something is drawing attention. Worth monitoring for continuation.
ABOVE AVG1.0 – 1.5xSlightly above normal. Could be the early stages of a move or just noise.
LOW0.5 – 1.0xBelow average but not dead. Moves here carry less conviction than usual.
DRY< 0.5xGhost town. Volume is a fraction of normal. Any price movement is suspect.
UNSUPPORTED< 0.75x + >1.5% movePrice moving on thin volume. Classic trap setup. Treat with extreme skepticism.

How To Use It

PRE-MARKET Check for gappers with high RVOL. If a name gaps up +5% but RVOL is 0.3x, the gap might fade. If it's gapping on 3x volume, there's real interest.
INTRADAY Use the UNSUPPORTED filter to spot potential reversals. Price drifting up on no volume is a setup to fade. Conversely, breakouts on 2x+ RVOL have conviction.
WATCHLIST Pin your core names and check their volume profile daily. Know what "normal" looks like for your positions so you can spot when something changes.
SEARCH Type multiple tickers separated by commas (e.g. TSLA, NVDA, AMD) to pull up just the names you care about. Works across all sections.

Built For Traders Who Read The Tape

Volume doesn't lie. Price can be manipulated, news can be spun, but volume is the raw signature of money moving.
